Well well well hellllo all!
I am very excited to share with you my current obsession. Last week (for the first time EVER I might add) I made a “fondant” cake for my families mini-reunion at my aunt’s house. We have these 2-3 times a year where my mom’s grandmothers children and grandchildren come together to have dinner and just socialize with each other. When she was alive, she was the glue which kept all of us together. When she passed away 4 years ago, no one made the effort to see each other. At the 1 year mark of her passing when we all got together and realized it, we decided to make a more conscious effort to see each other.
So last Saturday, we had another mini-reunion… I wanted to do something special for everyone and have been watching wayyy to much CAKE BOSS on TV… So I wanted to try making a fondant cake with butterflies because my grandmother loved butterflies.
I started at night because I wanted to surprise my mother Saturday morning. I must have worked on that cake for 5 hours or so…. And it was the fastest most fun 5 hours of my life… Take a look and tell me what you think..
